In Oud For Love, one certainly feels the expressive potential of precious agarwood. It is lifted splendidly on the sizzling rise of spice notes with an aldehyde twinkle - coriander seed adds remarkable purity and clarity with its lean citrusy, clean linalool profile, ignited with cumin, clove, and saffron. Heat and quiet pungency, this sachet of spices forms the frame that eventually turns into whisky that speaks of a sour mash of malt and grain. Its profile is spicy yet mellow, appealingly rounded and buffed into softness, with its characteristic interplay of char and sweet wood, vanilla, caramel, and fruit. A sizable dose of Haitian vetiver along with patchouli sketches the earthy dimension of the fragrance, while immortelle flower absolute adds a fine syrupy touch with a soft and golden burning glow.

Oud is always there, ever-present and doing the work, lending itself to the body of the scent giving it flesh, muscle, and nerves. This Laotian extraction of agarwood - floral-like, with discernible nuances of beeswax, dried fruit, vanilla, and gentle barnyard miasma - makes Oud For Love deeper and more complex, while solidifying its status as a woody amber. This fragrance does not shout or thunder with oud, but it is unmistakable and essential. It takes on many shapes to suit its company, and is never in competition with its companions.
