As a solitary child, Isabelle Larignon read the world through the prism of her nose. At the age of 5, she discovered perfume with a miniature of Tabac Original. As a teenager in La Rochelle, she hung out at La Saponaire, an independent perfume boutique and museum of the bottle that no longer exists. A few years later, when she returned to La Rochelle, she had her first taste of perfume with Serge Lutens, Annick Goutal and Parfum d’Empire. She moved to Paris in 1995, where she studied opera singing for ten years, while at the same time, she volunteered at the Osmothèque in Versailles, hoping to access the Holy Grail cellar of raw materials and perfumes.
As she didn’t dare to enter the world of perfumes, she spent fifteen years writing and communicating for the food industry. From nose to mouth, there’s only one palate... Having become a mother in 2016, she couldn’t pass up her childhood dream of becoming a perfumer. In 2018, she resumed her studies at Cinquième Sens and trained with Bertrand Duchaufour. In July 2020, she left a comfortable professional situation for a leap into the unknown and the void!
Her best-seller, Milky Dragon features in NEZ’s ‘TOP 2022’. Bangla Yasaman received the same award in 2024. In 2025, Mandi Rhubi was one NEZ magazine’s three favorites in issue 19 and one of the Best Fragrance of Spring/Summer 25 Fragrantica. Today, Isabelle is an artisan perfumer who masters the entire process of creating a fragrance, from the formula to the storytelling to the graphic design.
