When the French poet Charles Baudelaire spoke of ‘fleurs du mal’ - evil flowers - he very well may have had white florals in mind - intoxicating blooms that speak the language of seduction; enough to drive one crazy. The Different Company’s Crazy Tubereuse leans into this image, dressing white flowers in an incredible dark leather accord. Jasmine and tuberose, glowing in the moonlight, are placed in the foreground of this nocturnal scene. They smell true and powerful, melodic and piercing, ringing in scented space for a long time. A snap of frosty aldehydes and a spark of pepper give the initial phase of the scent animation, sequencing into florals held in a leathery harness.
