Tauer Incense Rose is a mysterious fragrance built around smoking frankincense, with rose and citrus notes, and dark balsamic resins. Opening with rose petals from a dark and spicy rose, the natural bergamot and clementine essential oil, together with just a hint of cardamom, play there with the natural rose absolute from Bulgaria. The fragrance is lifted by orris notes, rendering it vibrant and clear. At the same time it is dark and rich, with castoreum and woody notes playing on the skin. It is the Texan cedar wood, vetiver and the balsamic, dark and mysterious notes of myrrh and patchouli that are all dancing with the incense. This natural frankincense is softened by balsamic labdanum and ambrein.

Nothing comes close to the staggeringly tingly work of Tauer's Incense Rose, featuring a well played out luminosity against a dark masculine resinous background - like fluorescent fireworks in a black sky. Filled to the brim with sparkle, in my mind this is Tauer's masterpiece.

What am I wearing? Let me tell you

My love affair with Incense Rose takes me back to my travels in Malaysia where the scents and flavours of nutmeg, lime and cola give this perfume an extension of lift and height. These notes are grounded by the soft rose and luxurious incense that's dustiness is not reminiscent of old cupboard, but grand halls of Churches. It an all-season, all-occasion signature scent. Thank you to the fragrance editor Liam, for uniting me with this scent.

A BRIGHT BURNER

Incense Rose: It's interesting how the supporting notes make the rose smell quite vegetal at first, but this develops and smooths out quite quickly. Sweet, smokey, bright... It's not as strong as incense extreme, but it's not as sombre either. The notes here actually come across as idyllic and relatively light despite the presence of castoreum and several resins. Can incense get more cheerful than this? Wearing it feels like the first sunny day after weeks of rain.

Bright, sparkly, fizzy rose with citrus, spice, dark resins and incense. I'm usually not a huge fan of rose in fragrance, but the rose here isn't heavy or overpowering, it's blended so well with the other notes and produces the most intoxicating complex smell that projects and lasts. It just makes me happy! Men's Biz provides exceptional service, one of my favourite places to shop.
