In Apricot in Cognac, it’s all too easy to be amazed by the depth and clarity of its namesake fruit note, which avoids a juvenile expression. Rather, this is the sumptuous world of preserved apricots and fruit liqueurs, a bit of fire that meets a tangy creaminess that is neither too sour nor too sweet. And as you are beguiled by this apricot, sharing ambrosial sweetness and tang from tangerine - the bigger picture appears. This is a total perfume: dulcet tones of orange flower draws out the floral softness of the fruit, while milky sandalwood emphasises its lactic qualities. This is finished with an amber feature from benzoin, old oak from the Cognac cask, and a fine nuttiness from sesame.
