Consider Haltane in stages, an excellent journey that first recalls an aromatic masculine - fresh up top with lavender and clary sage, this duotone an aromatic arch to pass through, greeted with woody fortifications sweetened and spiced where essential - blooming in aromatic space. The oud used in Haltane demonstrates many of its typical characteristics, rendered in a 'Western' perfumery style.

Its coarseness shifts into refinement, darkness beckons as it turns astringent, if a little shiny. It happily supports the sweet smouldering heat of saffron, dried with cedar, and in the drydown - oud’s earthiness, redolent of patchouli and pine, thumps and reasserts itself - returning to the aromatic top of the scent, a spiral the gains and develops. Keeping this balanced, a subtle and well-judged praline sweetness, keeps this scent at the centre of our attention.
