A splash of freshness from Japan. Yuzu Fou opens with the crackling scent of Japanese yuzu, set in a cocktail of concentrated citrus extracts: kumquat, sweet orange, and bitter orange, topped off with an icy splash of mint, delivering its bracing virtues. Yuzu is the archipelago’s olfactory identity: from pharmacopeia to gastronomy, the unique, powerfully tart flavour of this vitamin-C rich fruit is ubiquitous in Japan. Verbena absolute intensifies the scent’s coolness with its metallic facet, and a green bamboo accord boosts the coolness of this crazy yuzu. Blond cedar wood, neroli and white musks flesh it out, offering a limpid yet long-lasting sillage.

We love citrus fragrances not only for their acidic sharpness, but their bitterness too - which is just as tempting, and is crucial to their fresh profile. Yuzu Fou relishes in this bitterness, set against the hyperreal zing and zip of citrus fruit in which yuzu takes charge. It can’t help but revive, but also fascinate - such rhapsodic brightness, dancing around notes of green nature, with a distinctly shiny texture on its surface. It reminds that citruses are fruity products, and here juicy flesh is as essential as aromatic skins. Additions of mint and lemon verbena add sparkiness, the latter lending a slightly classical feeling, all of which ends on a clean woody-musk accord that is slightly aqueous, and never obtrusive - preserving the dynamic feeling of this energetic citrus scent.
