Perfumer’s Inspiration:
A unique work around a precious seed, not much used in perfumery because of its high cost, the ambrette seed, also known as hibiscus. According to Marc-Antoine, it is the most luminous ingredient in perfumery, and therefore the main axis of the fragrance. Ambrette naturally has eau de vie, pear and musk facets (it is a true vegetal musk), as well as powdery and woody facets. Associated with a particularly bright essence of Turkish rose, Florentine iris adds body, clarity and limpidity.

An immense elegance, Le Cri is a radiant and airy musk with a surprising groundedness. It looks to the celestial heavens from the earth below, this contrast achieved with ambrette seed - an expensive extract in the perfumer’s palette, it is the only vegetal musk available (from the hibiscus flower), and yet smells like animal musk and pome fruit, as well as fine olive oil and eau-de-vie. It is a fragrance in itself, and Marc-Antoine builds without obfuscating, adding noble iris and rose to form an exceptional chord - vibrating at a frequency that seems to bring us up and settle us at the same time. This is pure, graceful sunlight captured and filtered through crystal glass, clear and discrete tones - it is austere and graceful.
