Re-Evolution lives up to its name, utilising a fascinating palette of materials. In a sense, it revisits, redraws, revives, and redoes: patchouli, for instance, a virtually ubiquitous material - cleaned up endlessly and turning into names such as Clearwood and Akigalawood - regains its primordial sense here, traced back to its original terroir from Gayo on Sumatra Island in Indonesia. Innovative ‘Jungle Essence’ extraction technology allows the pure capture of its aromatic profile, as it is from the leaf itself, still attached to the earth. It smells woody and earthy with a fine touch of dusty cacao. The same goes for Re-Evolution’s red algae and black pepper notes, both extracted via MANE’s Jungle Essence process, ensuring high fidelity. Altogether, Re-Evolution connects the nose to the complex earth; specifically, like the shoreline, a composition of life and decay, crushed seashells and pumice, shingles and seaweed. Further inland, there is moss and fungi, peat and earthy roots. Re-Evolution is supported by fine yet discernible amounts of Ambramone - a raspy woody amber; and Orcanox, an ambergris material. Aqual adds an ozonic overlay, while Noreenal, a new generation aldehyde, imparts a slightly sharp citric inflection. Together, it is the exhilarating aroma of mineral salts that form a crust on the earth.
