In Alfa, notes emerge from a primordial pool of milk - as if to reach out, seeking balance and resolve. This beautiful lactic creaminess is expansive and enduring, and is central to the experience of Alfa. It is the significance of the beginning. Contrary to nothingness, Alfa begins with something - growing more determinate with time. From the Arcadian symbol of milk - purity and life - delicate herbs and jasmine season this accord, and the gentle wood coarseness of nutmeg, finding stillness and strength in excellent Indian sandalwood, operating on a paradox of sturdiness and melting softness. It is warmed with saffron, a prominent material in Alfa that lends heat and sweetness, along with facets of honey, metal, medicine, and leather, expanding on the gentle trails of incense, another significant origin material. Alfa feels remarkably elemental; evocative, meditative, spiritually determined. Ever so slowly, a dark pinpoint of leathery oud is found within the white body of the scent - as if to put it on the precipice of transformation, though never quite. Alfa, however, is remarkably deep and intriguing. All of its complexity is felt rather than thought over - it is sophisticated simplicity.
