For the love of patchouli, overdosed with the finest 'grand cru' quality extracts (a whopping 35%) that displays unique characteristics - not merely earthy or green, but fine. It is pleasantly camphoraceous and rounded, woody and moist like a walk through a Sumatran rainforest. It has a distinctive tannic line you can follow, until it leads you to leathery notes, as well as rum and even rubber. There is nothing obscure about this material, which shines in full, and is brilliantly complement with the roasted cereal notes of Piedmontese hazelnut, lending a slightly mealy texture and a praline one too - triggering an immense addiction. A modern reference for patchouli.

Valerie Pulverail, the founder of the brand, explains the creative and technical challenge behind this new creation: ‘Antoine and I dreamed of working with patchouli in an ultra-contemporary way, while staying away from the classic ‘chypre’ scheme, and associating it with a totally new natural extract that could harmonise and balance the dark and sometimes quite brutal facets of patchouli’. Looking at the classics of perfumery, it is clear that few have used patchouli in such overdose, and this is probably the main interest of this new fragrance: to bring back to the forefront a mythical ingredient that is so difficult to tame in high concentration! Antoine Lie continues: ‘Patchouli is a unique and indispensable ingredient that has been used for decades in the composition of many perfumes. It is often used in a touch to accentuate and accord, or in larger proportions in ‘chypre’ structures, or more recently to enhance gourmand proposals’.
