Central is the pure happiness of Sicilian blood orange, more sweet than sour, electrified with zesty cedrat. The bitterness of citrus piths are sublimated, becoming palatable and magnificent: its construction is three-dimensional, put proudly in the foreground, and set on a sturdy chypre pillar. With this in view, everything becomes apparent: the cool saline overtone from a real ambergris infusion, the icy and anisic herbal sizzle of tarragon which makes everything so much more alive, while marvellous ‘grand cru’ qualities of sweet rose centifolia and Indonesian patchouli give the scent a remarkable finish that goes on, and on. It is remarkably full yet weightless, expansive but not obtrusive. So much complexity while being so very clean and legible - as clear and brilliant as crystal.
