Anchored in precious and rich orris pallida butter, warmth radiates from golden-hued tonka, touches of fruity-fresh vanilla are deepened with lush, dark cacao bean extract, accented with ginger and cardamom. Angelic musks impart an ethereal lift, signaling the dawn of better days ahead.

The iris (or orris, if we are being precise) note in Belle Âme lands just right. Rich and deeply satisfying, saturnine but smiling, this revered material exhales with a drawn out sigh, against a dramatic gloam. Key here is its oscillation - a thick and brooding movement - between fresh, luminous ginger and luscious, darkening cacao, draped with frankincense. Like twinkling stars in the darkest sky.

Belle Âme is a complex layering of powder notes, like fizzy spicy sherbet and smudgy pulverised roots. Its contrast lies in dustiness on the one hand, and unctuousness on the other. This is the sublime paradox of iris root on full display, which is not held back here, but launched extravagantly into the foreground. As the scent settles, passing through the charmingly agrestic, dry hay-scented sweetness of tonka bean and a light cardamom cool freshness, Belle Ame is softened with the fluffiest, thickest musks and a sturdy sandalwood foundation, which warms and imparts an inimitable creaminess. It never draws away from the decadence of the composition, rather, provides a confident landing for the nose to come to rest, after it has drifted elatedly on its powder cloud.
