Saint Julep honours the natural affinity between mint leaves and sugar, which becomes a syrup that rounds out the sharp sweetness of these green leaves, warming its mentholated cool. Combined with the sweet fire of bourbon whiskey, this trio form the rudiments of a great cocktail - and a great time. This is softened with the green and white tints of magnolia flower, and the tender, almost honey-like sweetness of tangerine. Imaginary Authors works this with a delectable stickiness, the sort that coats fingertips with its mix of the viscous and the granular.
