Irreverent is all about glorious contrasts. Lavender is the central note, with its usual tender powderiness, rapidly crystalised in a bath of resins - the sappy lemon and pine facets of elemi, the dry, almost leathery feel of styrax, and the chewy sweet warmth of amber. The roasted, sun-drenched quality of lavender is then brought out with a roasted coffee note, subtly enriched with animalic oud and earthy patchouli. Finally, incense washes the composition, adding an effective texture and slow-burning and smouldering radiance. A delightful fragrance, this is an excellent and inspired interpretation of the lavender note.
