Not for the faint of heart, but truly a rewarding wear, 1740 is an enrapturing piece of libertine perfumery, given its name from the birth year of the original sadist, Marquis de Sade. 1740 is dark, intense, and mysterious - with a transient sense of bitterness that quickly moves into a pleasurable combination of spiced leather.
