Verveine d’Eugene is a dream of citrusy greens. Its namesake note, lemon verbena, is the perfect middle between two poles: the expanse and clarity of citrus notes without sharpness, and the delicacy of floral notes without overbearing intensity. An elegant fragrance, this is a layering where the initial verveine note, redolent of sparkling grapefruit and pomelo, meets the cool resinous touch of cardamom. Furthered with fresh bergamot, the verdancy is recapitulated with rhubarb, radiating a distinctively tart and sweet quality that grows in predominance. Punctuated with blackcurrant, this lends to the fragrance a singularly sharp intensity, and has the effect of shading dark tones amongst all this green. Jasmine imparts a distinctly waxy and lemony facet to the fragrance. The result of this layering is a scent of profound dimension, depth, and nuance, unusual for the citrus category.
