James Heeley’s creative style is singular: architecturally meticulous, angularly precise, restrained and sophisticated – it is an obsession with form. Heeley approaches a rambunctious tropical theme with class and grace. A central green coconut note demonstrates its two contrasting sides, on the one hand aqueous and salty, and on the other, creamy and sweet, placed in a frame bordered with a garland of buttery vanilla-scented gardenia flowers and palm leaves. Within this frame bursts an impression of sizzling green and crunchy coriander, floating in a salty aromatic bouillon. These expansive and energetic notes are controlled with precise technique, a bursting and lively scene in fine-tuned proportion. Golden rays of tropical sunlight fall on gentle waves, its solar warmth shaded with cedar and sandalwood.
