Geo. F. Trumper Sandalwood Shaving Soap in Bowl, 80g

This shaving soap was originally given to me by my daughter from London some 10 years ago. I have always enjoyed using it and love the sandalwood. I would recommend this for its quality and great lathering.

I ignored the above bad reviews because I'm an optimist but the lather is terrible and the perfume meek and mild. I wasn't expecting the sumptuous or sultry fragrance or smouldering sensuality as promised but was expecting a lather that would remain solid during the first pass shave rather than breaking into loose bubbles.
Made in the UK, perhaps this is a Brexit thing?

Excellent product and my husband liked it so much that this is the second one that I have bought him. It lathers well and we both love the perfume

Good product, excellent lather when you get it right. Damp brush essential, not too wet, have had success lathering in a bowl and directly on face, great product once you get the hang of the lather

if i could give it 0 stars i would. Trumpers soaps are worthless and nothing more than expensive bath soap. Doesn't lather, I've tried everything to get it to lather, different brushes,blooming the soap etc..all i end up with is foamy airy bubbles that go away before i lift my razor up..save your money and time and go for d.r.harris or anything really other than this

This was the very first soap I bought and moved to it from using King of Shaves shaving oil along with their shave gel, which provides an excellent shave.
The move to soap was great. Just as good as the King of Shaves oil and gel combined but nowhere near the cost.
Sandalwood is a nice easy fragrance, nothing too overpowering.
Would happily recommend.

Having tried GTF Rose shaving soap, and having a love of all things GFT, I thought I would give this shave soap a go.

The packaging like all GFT soaps is quite nice and gives a brief background of GFT.

After rehydrating the soap (as I do with all my soaps) I began to lather with my badger brush. The brush generated a lovely amount of lather right there on the soap without hesitation. I then continued to bowl lather.

I was treated with a nice thick lather, which didn't disappear or dry out like so many other soaps.

What I wasn't a fan of was the scent. I have owned many "Sandalwood" soaps, and having smelt the GFT Sandalwood Skin food, I knew that this Sandalwood would be different. To me, the scent is more "Soapy" (think Imperial Leather soap scent) than Sandalwood. However there is a "Woody" scent to it, although its very light, and given this is more suited for sensitive skin, I can understand why the scent is not overpowering.

All in all, a great performing soap in a well presented box and wooden bowl. A must for all GFT fans!
