For those in the know, Havana might remind you of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille or Tauerville's Vanilla Flash. Indeed - this is a vanilla. A discrete flash of grapefruit opens, swiftly followed with a breezy and richly multi-faceted spiced complexity that settles on a watercolour floral heart that has a discernible tropical dimension. This is a Trumper after all, with an inimitably phlegmatic British character, and so the vanilla is like that encountered in a snifter of refined spirit aged in oak, in conjunction with a gorgeous and refined powder in the background, in true Trumper style.

Staying power

I used to love the old Bay Rum that the barber would splash on the back of your neck when I was a kid - but it disappeared too quickly. But Havana lasts all day. More complex, spicy and smoky than Bay Rum, but still with an old fashioned barber shop masculinity about it. Even the small sample made me want more.

great summer fragrance! will be getting a full bottle some time

Fragrant wood and spice haze that hovers without heaviness.

This opens with a spray of fruity cedar then softens and broadens into the loveliest fragrance. It contains pink grapefruit, pepper, cinnamon and various spices but none of them break through enough to dominate. You get instead a beautifully melded, long-lasting oriental with no harshness or rough edges. Absolutely lovely.
