Francesca Bianchi The Mariner’s Rhyme Extrait de Parfum
Francesca Bianchi The Mariner’s Rhyme Extrait de Parfum - 30ml is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This fragrance captures the essence of a mariner navigating a stormy sea. It carries a metallic edge reminiscent of a razor blade, an ozonic quality evoking the cold tempest winds, and a dark, mysterious depth akin to the ocean’s abyss. Although fresher and more transparent than the other scents in Francesca Bianchi’s collection, the unmistakable DNA of her dramatic character and the animalic iris strongly influence and shape this unique creation.

Francesca’s Inspiration:
“The fragrance has a contemplative aspect, it’s fresh but complex and dramatic. For lovers of my signature, the animalic-powdery theme dear to me recurs, albeit more subtly. The animalic note in this composition is the grey amber. The fragrance also has a transparency and luminosity that sets it apart from my initial creations.
My relationship with the sea is conveyed through some references dear to me: the sacred sense of the drama in “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by S.T. Coleridge, the epic and theatrical adaptation by Iron Maiden, but especially the mysterious, evocative, contemplative, experimental, immersive instrumental song “Sailor’s Tale” from the album “Islands” by King Crimson.
It is a fresh and transparent unisex fragrance on one side and dense and structured on the other. The citrusy and ozonic opening has a lively and modern character, reinforced by the sharp edge of aldehydes. We are at sea, but there is a hint of orange blossom in the background coming from the mainland. The salty ambergris and the metallic aldehyde associated with oakmoss evoke the taste of oyster shells, as well as the shadowy depths of the sea. The transparency of the ozonic accord transforms into a more opaque and thick accord, thanks to iris, which adds an almost sacred and mystical character, evoked by elemi and incense.”
