Fig Infusion is an imagining, first and foremost. Master perfumer Nathalie Lorson attunes not to the fig note, despite its centrality, but to luminosity and happiness. Fig becomes the means to achieving this end, which beams with an overdose of stemmy and leafy green, against its signature milky torrent. Following this verdant streak, we are lead through tangles of wood and the soft bark of trees, warmed in the sunlight of mandarin, freesia, and orange blossom. Of note, black tea becomes the essential contrast, lending delicate tautness and dryness to the composition. Fig Infusion is an imagining, yes – but for fig lovers, it’s a dream.
