Sophisticated smoky notes infuse the long body of LiTA, reminding us that the most elegant leather and smoke fragrances often depend upon a complexity of florals, woods, herbs, and resins to gain a powerful and distinctive character. The finest examples work great variation and texture within something that can otherwise be so stubbornly singular, and in this regard, LiTA will recall many greats, from Russian Leathers to Lonestar Memories, Bois d’Ascese to T-Rex. Here, smokiness becomes an umbrella category that encompasses the burnt, charred, roasted, boozy-peaty, and the caramelised - inclusive of all of their subtleties and differences - and LiTA maintains these many impressions. You can enter into the thickest parts of LiTA and never feel encumbered, and this is its charm but also the source of its marvelousness. Moving amongst this body, you can discern and feel its allotropic variations in cycles of texture and intensity, repeating themselves well into the development of the scent. And in its contrast, the white of gardenia, champaca, and jasmine flowers reveal the fine nuances of many tones of black, which are generously strewn across the surface.
