Oak chips introduce woodiness. And before we know where we are, the oud has pounced – and holds us in its mesmerising spell.

King Blue respects the ‘blue’ style of perfumery while extending it into new territories. Indeed, Amouage dirties this blue with animalic oud and leather notes, first starting with a familiar mandarin top note and the sour-sweet flash of blackcurrant. While this impression lasts the duration, rapidly a funky impression grows that works in contrast with this soft citric freshness. King Blue preserves the stylistic heart of the ‘blue’ category, working with great contrasts that result in intense and powerful forms of freshness. And here the gulf of this contrast is wide, making compatible of discernably different styles.
