In Woods Symphony, Amouage has performed an olfactory trick where orris and rum produce a third sensation entirely, a smooth woody effect that is plush like leather and as delicate as a flower. It’s possible to detect peach and rose at the top of this fragrance, in addition to some faint smokiness, soft jasmine, and animal notes. Elevating woody impressions to the front of this composition, Amouage creates a phantasmal wood unlike anything in particular - a contradictory material to be defined in oxymoronic terms.
