This is the inevitable result when Master French perfumer Guy Robert (1926-2012) is given carte blanche, and this is the result, where florals are at their most sumptuous, overloaded and maximal, harmonised to produce a staggering accord that goes on forever in some panoramic carnival of notes: a powdery cascade of rose, orris, mimosa, jasmine, muguet, and rosehip flushed with superlative Omani frankincense - the inflection of exotica, and civet - for emphasis and accentuation, making the rich, richer. This settles on a mossy and balsamic base that smoulders with a confident and refined energy. Glorious.
