Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose Shaving Cream Bowl

I love the scent of this shaving cream. I swap between scents of TOBS. The texture and lather of the cream is excellent, too, like most other TOBS variants.

I thought I would try the Rose varietal, as I like Sandalwood and Eton. I love this scent. It’s very rose, if you like that. The lather is super creamy and smooth.

You can quibble about the various fragrances, but the lather and the quality of the resultant shave, with a decent blade, speak for themselves. I've use this product for years and it never disappoints.

I recently purchased Taylor of Old Bond Street's Rose shaving cream after trying it in the TOBS sampler pack and finding it to be my favourite scent. The rose scent is really great - it is reasonably strong out of the tub however fades to a really pleasant, light scent post-shave that I found lingered throughout the day. If I shave at night, it is generally unnoticeable the next day. Unless I rush my shave and this generally gives me an irritation free shave. Recommended.

Firstly as a shave cream the TOBS Rose does the job very well. But to my nose the rose scent seemed a little artificial.

The consistency of TOBS Rose is closer to a soft soap than a soft cream. The lather, slickness and protection are all great, post-shave feel is excellent for my sensitive skin and it goes great with Trumper's Coral skin food. My only complaint is that the scent is quite sweet and strong to my uncultured nose, and I wouldn't use this cream more than a couple of times a week for that reason.

I purchased 2 Taylor of Old Bond St creams- the rose and the lavender. Great products with great lather and great scents. I might just prefer the lavender but they are both great creams. The service from Mens Biz was excellent too.

The good is the great lather from a small amount of product which has been typical of all the TOBS shave creams used todate. The smell is definitely rose strong not sure if its a blokes smell that I will leave up to the individual.

Big fan of ToB soaps. Easy to lather, glide is great.

Had initial trepidation with the fragrance. After all... rose... not traditionally manly.
The fragrance is mild and not really floral. Lots of spice notes in there. Another review calls it spicy (I think cloves and cinnamon) Turkish delight. Fragrance doesn't have staying power but is quite pleasant.

Gave this a go after first getting a "Trumper coral skin food" as a sampler (deathly coral, I suppose, being mancode for rosewater which is what the fragrance is). This I liked and went down that path for the next ToB purchase.

I thought rose may be a bit, well rosey, but not. Hints of Turkish delight backed up with some spice. Feels more aerated in the bowl than Trumper's rose. Lux.

Rose...It's one of those scents that I had initial doubts about being a bloke and all but which after a trial has found a welcomed palce in my kit.This cream is of the same high quality as all of the TOBS products.Easy to lather.Great scent which is by no means overwhelming.No irritation.Plenty of glide.A little goes a long way making this great value.I wouldn't be without some Rose in my shaving kit.Definitely recommend this one.A winner.

I bought this as a special treat for my girlfriend. While the smell mostly comes off once you finish shaving, she just couldn't get enough of my freshly shaven chin afterwards. It feels great against the skin, and you don't need much to get a good lather going.

To find that this was not available in shops having returned from living overseas for 3 years where I discovered this, was a real dissapointment, great to now know I can get it on line, it is a great way to start the day with a pleasant aroma, and a really good shaving experience producing great lather, highly recomend this to anyone who would ask me about it.
