Better than I had expected. Lathers well, gives a smooth smooth shave and seems like the soap will last last a long time.

Slick, plentiful and easy lather. Very hard soap and will last! An old majestic fragrance that some might find not to their liking. I like its unique old-style perfumery. I also purchased the cologne and balm just to get that lasting lingering layering effect. Speedy delivery even during the days of COVID.

I have several shaving creams and soaps which perform well until I tried Tabac. This soap is just wonderful!
This provides the closest and most comfortable shave I have ever experienced. The lather is so rich which makes the blade glide effortlesly over your beard with no irritation. Another bonus is the amazing scent.

Wow.... Tabac shaving soap is unlike any others. The scent is unlike anything I have smelt before... very old school / classic barbershop.

The soap performs wonderfully! It lathers like a dream and is very heavily scented (exactly like the aftershave / cologne).

For wet shavers new and old, this is a must have as part of your collection. The Tub is also fantastic and reusable!

I thought I would never try shaving soap as my belief was shave cream was better for sensitive skin.Wrong this Tabac is amazing what a glide

So many people report this as easy to lather, but it took me ages to get this to lather up nicely compared to a cream. Maybe my water is hard but it seemed to have a really tight band of water allowance to last for a good 3X shave. I always add a little cream to make it last.

I generally only need to shave every couple of days, and this soap has lasted me a long time. Even then, I have not tired of the understated fragrance that one can only get to know, and likely grow to love, through trying it.

The lather itself is fantastic, and generally outperforms other quality shaving creams that I sometimes use. Great value with the smartly-designed white glass bowl.

Tabac soap lathers like a champ. About 20 sec loading time gives enough lather for 4 passes and more. Very smooth and well cushioned shaves when I use this. Isn't drying and smells great, imo. Although some may not like the smell.

Tabac gives an amazing lather, and has a refined, old-school kind of scent. In my opinion, its excellent reputation is well deserved.

Well I finally tried the classic Tabac and I was not disappointed. A rich, thick lather and close shave - everything people say it is. Unfortunately this also includes the smell - it is not particularly bad, but after a while the florally scent gets a bit sickly and I find myself reaching for something else sometimes. Although it should only get 4 stars for that reason, it is good value (including the bowl) and otherwise amazing, so 5 stars it is.

Another wetshaving "holy grail" soap Tabac produces a rich cushioning lather that only a tallow based soap can provide. The smell is ( to me ) an "old fashioned" spicy/floral smell. Highly recommended.

The ceramic bowl is really nice and thick and the perfect way to store the soap. Heck, even the way it's boxed is nice. Don't forget you can just buy the the refill once you've used up the original puck.
