Shear Revival Northern Lights Matte Paste

Sometimes you get hair products that have been sitting in the shelf for a while. The ones I got here were great.

Awesome product at a great price

Liam suggested this product as an alternative to the Blumaan wax fibre, which was out of stock, and I'm pleasantly surprised as to how well it holds and styles my Asian stiff hair. It certainly is on par with Blumaan and much more superior than American Crew. I am seriously considering switching over to this product. Thank you, Liam, for your expert recommendation!!

The product smells great and is not overpowering. I apply it in damp or towel dry hair and there is some tugging, it has decent volume and I would say the hold is medium, with a natural finish. The hold is good for half the day but by the end of the day the hold is more light/medium. I like the ingredients, I just wish it had better hold and less tug when applying. I really like how my hair feels with the product, smooth, hydrated and healthy . My hair type is fine and wavy.

Love the feel and the product works great in my hair, exactly what I was looking for texture-wise. Smell is a little strong, but that's subjective/minimal.

Because I literally do not need any other hair product after I've discovered this. It's the perfect amount of hold, not too much shine, and easy to apply/take off. Amazing.

This is great. I've got thin/fine hair and this holds it in place, has a natural look, and doesn't weigh it down. Love the texture it adds and it rinses out easily. Highly recommend

I had initially given this product 3 stars but I have since changed my mind. This is a 5 star product. I've never had a hair product that holds my hair in place so well all day long. The feel isn't greasy and it has a nice smooth texture. I usually blow dry then apply then blow dry again lightly to get more volume and less stickiness. Overall this product is great for any length of hair and perfect for styling pompadours/undercuts. Highly recommend. Oh and it smells amazing.

I've gone through many hair products and one never stood out to me until I came across the Northern Lights matte paste. Now, this will be in my permanent styling products and one I will use daily. If you're like me, I am looking for a strong hold, matte (no shine), easy application, and healthy ingredients for the hair. The Northern Lights matte paste fits every category. I use it as a post styler and my hair feels amazing and not heavy at all. The scoop is hard at first, but softens over time and the application is smooth. Throughout the day, my hair feels soft and there is no shine. Also, the hold is amazingly strong given that it's not a wax, clay, etc. and find that difficult to find anywhere. The hold is great with a soft and pliable feeling to restyle if needed. This is the hair styling product to get!

My first review with this product and I have to say I'm so so happy I gave it a shot. Northern lights is perfect for a 'every other day' driver ( because of price ) but I definitely got what I paid for with this product.

I'll be back to buy the bigger container my next to around. Highly recommend if you have very straight fine hair. This has opened me to try other products from this company.

Not the biggest fan of this clay due to the price tag and the performance. I expected more for bang for my buck but I was left disappointed once I realized this clay didn't last throughout the day. Initially styling is easy, the hold seemed to be strong. But I noticed as the day went by, my hair began to get flatter and flatter. I was expecting a higher hold, but that isn't what I got. I will say that the smell is great, and if you don't sweat/ work a laborious job this may be well suited for you. All in all, not what I expected.

I stumbled upon this 4ish years ago and have been using it exclusively ever since. I have stubborn hair, i'm super picky with what i use, and really love clean products, and this fits the bill. I don't even wash it out at night and it doesn't give me acne or anything from being on my pillow/sheets. Styles my hair awesome, lasts forever, and the ingredient list is solid. I figured after years of using this i really should review it.

I want to preface this by saying I enjoy NL a lot. However, I had to change how I normally style my hair due to the tug and tack of this product. I have extremely thick and curly hair. So, I blow dry to get my desired style. Making my hair dry obviously. This product is horrible to put into completely dry hair. Must be damp. I can see how that my out some people if they aren't flexible or wanting to work with the product.

Aside from that the product is a true matt finish and has great hold.

Love this product for my thin, fine hair (especially paired with the Amity Spray). Tried the American Gardens first looking for strong hold and no shine. After trying Northern Lights I think its effective hold is even better, thanks to easier application allowing me to coat more hair fibers evenly. Will be back for more!

I like this paste a ton, and it instantly became part of my main rotation. I've tried a number of SR styling products now, and this is probably the best fit for my thick, wavy hair. The others were obviously well made, but all have proved a little too shiny/greasy to hold my heavy (edging toward oily) hair in place. This is much closer to what I need: It's lighter in weight and more capable of a "dry" hold. I only deduct the final star because it's still less of a paste and more of a cream. But overall, I'm really happy with it for looser-look days, and use it regularly. I also STRONGLY approve of the option to buy 1 oz. containers. If you enjoy a lot of different products, or want to travel with you favorites, this is a great option (why doesn't everyone do this?)!

Great product. Looks better than the Reuzel Clay Matte pomade I was using before and smells good too. Feels like there isn't anything in my hair at all after pre-styling, blow drying, and reapplying. Holds all day as well too. Still looks great and feels amazing before I go to bed!
