Shear Revival Gray Ghost Cream Pomade

great hold too, I use a little grooming oil (have medium straight/wavy hair). lasts all day, feels natural.
Delivery was super quick too!

Good medium-strong hold, easy to scoop out and leaves a natural shine with a pleaseant citrus smell. Washes out easily so I’m a fan and will probably buy the bigger tub next time.

Big fan of this pomade, especially for my current hairstyle which is a classic side part. I have rather fine hair, not as dense as it used to be. Pomades are tricky for me. I've enjoyed the Northern Lights paste and the American Gardens clay, but they don't have as much shine as I'd like some days. Crystal Lake has good shine but not enough hold. Other products walk too fine a line and can take me from classy to greasy real quick. Gray Ghost does not have that problem. It goes in easily and provides a good hold for my hair, which is typically prone to flyaways. Shine level is solid, and I can reapply for a couple days without shampooing before my hair starts looking greasy. Definitely recommend trying it out!

After seeing so many rave reviews I decided to give this a shot. While it did provide a good hold, I was dissatisfied with the product. When opening the jar, a chemical smell came out. It was not a pleasant scent in any capacity. Also, the top later was completely dried and I had to remove it in order to get to usable product. This product did not wash out easily. I had to be careful not to yank my hair while shampooing. I would not recommend this product. Hopefully others have had better experience.

I've tried almost all the SR styling products, and Gray Ghost is my favorite for when I want a slicked back and/or side part style. I have thick, slightly coarse, high density hair that is wavy and a little curly. I need a strong hold product to tame it and GG does the trick. Emulsifying this and warming it up in your hands properly is key. For me, I have to apply when my hair is towel dry. I use the All Purpose Oil first, than a little Styling Balm, then GG. The first two are for extra hydration and moisture as my hair tends to be dry. I generally have to use two scoops of the product to get the hold I need. When GG dries, it has a beautiful semi-matte luster that looks natural, modern and is touchable. Never gets hard or crunchy. Doesn't flake either. Hold lasts all day and never dries my hair out. Highly recommend.

I have thick and wavy, sometimes slightly curly, hair and this worked great. It was somewhat easy to apply and spread, and even easier to style. The hold is good for all day, hair feels soft and easy to restyle. Better hold than Crystal Lake but not as much shine.

Second purchase of ghost and this batch seems stronger to me than the last. That's a good thing in the summer heat. Scoops out easy and application is smooth. Use smaller scoops to apply if any issues with tug and pull when combing. Great scent too. One of my favorite products.

I love this cream pomade, it's not sticky or makes my hair feel gritty. It definitely holds all day and if need be I can restyle it but I don't have to very often. When I go through my first can I'll definitely get another one. Smells great too, it's not overbearing and it really is a matte finish

In the past, I've used many different products from different brands. But I've got to say, I've never tried a product that makes my hair look so healthy and defined; shine in the PERFECT amount. And sure, smells great.
It's almost a perfect product.
If I were to design a product, this would be it. The only twist that I hope that Shear Revival does, is to relaunch this product but making it cream clay instead of pomade. I like the texture and application better, but every clay on the market makes my hair dulled after shampoo.
If this product was a cream clay with this current amount of shine, and having a bit of bergamot/vanilla in the scent, it would be huge!

Has a great smell, decent amount of initial grip which I like. Easy to use. Settles in great. Hair soft, slight glow. My hair is longer now and very few products work well on my wavy hair at this length. I can see this product as the only one you need if you only want one in the cabinet.

This product is quiet versatile in the sense that you can apply a little for a more loose but firm holding style, it's definitely on the matte side of things or apply more for a very strong hold with a bit of shine to it. Really the versatility lies within its strength and shine level as you can control how little or how much more you use. More shine can be added in damp hair but I mostly prefer to add it onto dry hair. Only complaint is any volume achieved deflates a little but it's easy to pick it back up. I would consider this product kind of in the middle between Crystal Lake and Northern Lights in terms of it sharing features of both.

Love Shear Revival's products. Love the pop culture references. Especially with this one cause Batman is my favorite superhero. The product itself is awesome. It is easier to apply in towel dried hair. Great hold and great endurance. Zach makes great stuff. My only complaint is that I like the old labeling better. Highly recommend if you haven't tried his products. 👍

Superb product. This is my favorite product in the line along with the American Gardens clay (which is superb also). This Ghost almost gives similar texture and lift as a clay would.. it's got a healthy amount of dryness but slickness at the same time. Beautiful healthy matte finish with a healthy sheen when applied to dry hair. Offers beautiful control, lift, volume, thickness to the hair and a wonderful texture. Remains pliable yet firm. Rinses out with water. Hair feels moisturized after using it. Super nice subtle mandarin - grapefruit-citrus scent. It also works as a pre styler, in damp hair styling but my preference is dry hair styling for nice voluminous texture.

After getting used to this product and using it a few times, I have to say my opinion of it is very high. At first I was nervous because when you first put it into your hair it can look really greasy (esp if applying to dry hair). However, after literally 2 min of being in there, it transforms into a really lovely, matte look in your hair and the grease effect is gone. I love the slightly messy "90s Leo" look and with GG I have a ton of control over each specific strand of hair so I can really get the look I want without actually looking like a messy person. I Have a few other clay products that I dig for their own reasons, but this is the stuff I'll use for work and nice occasions (as opposed to just hanging with friends or doing errands). Can't wait to try out some of the other products from Shear Revival, as my first purchase with Gray Ghost has definitely impressed me.

I got the gray ghost since I really liked crystal lake. Gray ghost is impossible to remove from the can! It's difficult to spread too so it becomes chunks and can't quite use it. I feel the hold is okay, but can't tell because this thing won't come out of the can!!!

I have tried many wonderful products from many wonderful home-brew companies.
I tried many high en brands also.
I love their Northern lights matte paste. I still do love that paste. ESPECIALLY as a pre-styler! It works beautifully blow-dried in.
But, this Gray Ghost is, literally, a smoother version of Northern Lights Matte Paste, with a hold that's on steroids haha
A little goes à long way!
Application is smooth, with a slight tackiness, which helps manœuvre the hair any which way you want to. But it's still a very comfortable application ( I apply to dry hair ). It has a slight healthy sheen that almost immediately transforms into a beautiful, healthy, natural matte finish. You can apply to damp hair, let it air dry, and you'll get a low natural shine.
You can also use a tiny bit into damp hair and blow-dry it in for a beautiful, voluminous, high holding, natural finish style.
It's like the "MacGyver" of hair pomades..it does it ALL!
Super versatile, super easy to use, and the control is simply, EPIC!
it's a STRONG hold hut still feels very light weight in the hair. You can create any look you want with this, slicked back.. All the way to well groomed, to MESSY textured (the way I like it).
The scent is very subtle, like a orange blossom - lemon - herbal scent.. Very subtle and wonderful scent, which almost instantly disappears after application. I love it as I get headaches from products with overly strong scents.. But this one is so subtle, it's perfect!
It washes out super easily!
The combo I love is using a tiny bit of Northern Lights paste as a pre-styler and then going in with just a small pea size amount of the Gray Ghost as a post styler.
And it's a perfect combination! But even without pre-stylers in, just using this on its own as a post styler, you'll get incredible results and control!
No hairspray needed for me when using this product. Unless the wind is blowing like a tornado, then maybe I'll use it a couple spritz of hair spray but other than that, this alone has the strength to do it all.

This is probably one of the smoothest cream pomade I've had the pleasure of trying. Dries up really nice and holds my hair all day. The scent is nice too, but doesn't last too long, which I like because I'm always wearing cologne.

I really like the smell, the ingredients seem like they're beneficial for hair health and the way it holds is good too. My only issue is it's not very creamy, it gets very dry and solid when rubbing in hands and ends up pulling too much on my hair when styling.

Really good pomade so far - love the feel/thickness in the scoop and breakdown. Applies to dry hair with a little grip/tug, but is not unbearable and brush gores through fine.
Hold was a great firm hold that lasted all day, with a natural finish as stated.
Some rinses out with just water, but will need a little shampoo to get it all out.
Overall, a great, reliable product that also makes my hair feel healthy after washout.
