Shear Revival Gray Ghost Cream Pomade, 96g

Big fan of this pomade, especially for my current hairstyle which is a classic side part. I have rather fine hair, not as dense as it used to be. Pomades are tricky for me. I've enjoyed the Northern Lights paste and the American Gardens clay, but they don't have as much shine as I'd like some days. Crystal Lake has good shine but not enough hold. Other products walk too fine a line and can take me from classy to greasy real quick. Gray Ghost does not have that problem. It goes in easily and provides a good hold for my hair, which is typically prone to flyaways. Shine level is solid, and I can reapply for a couple days without shampooing before my hair starts looking greasy. Definitely recommend trying it out!

After seeing so many rave reviews I decided to give this a shot. While it did provide a good hold, I was dissatisfied with the product. When opening the jar, a chemical smell came out. It was not a pleasant scent in any capacity. Also, the top later was completely dried and I had to remove it in order to get to usable product. This product did not wash out easily. I had to be careful not to yank my hair while shampooing. I would not recommend this product. Hopefully others have had better experience.

I have fine hair, this doesn't weigh it down and gives a great hold and finish. Washes out easy.

I've tried almost all the SR styling products, and Gray Ghost is my favorite for when I want a slicked back and/or side part style. I have thick, slightly coarse, high density hair that is wavy and a little curly. I need a strong hold product to tame it and GG does the trick. Emulsifying this and warming it up in your hands properly is key. For me, I have to apply when my hair is towel dry. I use the All Purpose Oil first, than a little Styling Balm, then GG. The first two are for extra hydration and moisture as my hair tends to be dry. I generally have to use two scoops of the product to get the hold I need. When GG dries, it has a beautiful semi-matte luster that looks natural, modern and is touchable. Never gets hard or crunchy. Doesn't flake either. Hold lasts all day and never dries my hair out. Highly recommend.
