Shapton RockStar 16000 Sharpening Stone

The RockStar is Shapton’s pinnacle in synthetic sharpening stones, crafted with the precision and expertise that define the brand. It can take on the hardest steels while still producing a refined, consistent edge. It is ready for use straight away without the need for soaking and is built with long-lasting durability to keep its surface flat and reliable. At 10mm thick, the RockStar offers efficient sharpening and turns the process into a smooth, professional-level experience.

By design, RockStar stones are splash-and-go, meaning a quick wetting is all that’s required before use. However, for those who prefer a gentler touch - particularly with finer grits, or with stones that are new or have been sitting unused - a short five-minute soak can create a softer feel.

Although both the RockStar and Shapton Glass Stones are made from the same abrasives and binder, the difference lies in their construction. The RockStar is a full 10mm thick without a backing plate, while the Glass Stones are 5mm thick and bonded to a 5 mm glass base for added rigidity.

The #16000 grit stone has nano-sized particles. It is suited for for ultra-fine, mirror finishes and extremely sharp edges.
