Santa Maria Novella Acqua Dentifricia Mouthwash is a tooth and gum cleansing liquid containing aromatic plants, spices and mint and aniseed essential oils with antiseptic and refreshing properties. The ancient formula is made by macerating Guaiacum offinale wood and cloves, both highly astringent, antiseptic and deodorising ingredients, in a hydro-alcohol solution. Highly concentrated, only a few drops are needed for a fresher breath and healthier mouth.

Like many Santa Maria Novella products this is interesting and quirky. You put a few drops in some water and gargle.
The herbal flavour is wonderful and gives a feeling of complete clean. I love this product

Flavoursome Mouthwash from one of the oldest companies in the world

Like a party in the mouth, this exotic concoction make for a refreshing gargle in the morning or before going out in the evening. Highly concentrated, so you need only a few drops in an inch of water. Tastes a bit like mint combined with other natural, aromatic flavours. Its strength depends on how much you use accordingly, but either way this won't blow your tongue out like some of the very much stronger, readily-available commercial brands on the supermarket shelves.

Beautifully packaged. This would make a nice gift for your father or the discerning gentleman who already has everything else at his disposal. The almost ancient story behind Santa Maria Novella only adds to the appeal. There is something beautifully Italian about the fact that these products cannot be ordered online. Orders require you to visit the store personally, or pick up the phone. Something we should be doing more of these days anyway!

All said, 50ml is not large, however, so this (in my view) is perhaps best savoured for those extra special, refreshing moments.
