REX Envoy Safety Razor

I'll start with the pros of this razor. Firstly, the packaging is quite nostalgic, and I quite appreciate the individual serial numbers and overall aesthetic. Secondly this is a three piece razor, and is exceptionally well machined. You can feel it in the handle, in particularly the knurling which gives an exceptional level of bite into the hands when shaving. This actually took me by surprise just how well this functions in the wet and reminds me of a brand new Eleiko barbell in terms of how aggressive it is. I have large hands and this is quite secure because of it.

Now the cons: I have used the razor with both feather and Astra platinum blades. Overall I will say that this does give an ok shave, and have persisted for a couple of months that it doesn't give the best ever shave and creates drag across the skin at times - perhaps it is my technique, but the Merkur barber pole IMO gives a better and more consistent shave.

I typically shave with soaps such as Phoenix and Beau / Barrister and Mann, or a Trumper and have good lather technique; and would say I have an average beard

Never thought id spend this much on a razor but after reviews and a little research i thought id give it a crack. Wow! This razor looks and performed perfect. Its the only razor i will ever use now and with a life time warranty with rex, it gives me more confidence that they only produce quality razors. With free express mail from mens biz cant go wrong.
