I paid Au$89 for this shavette. As the actual cut depends on the blade used I will restrict my opinion to the construction and finish of this product.
I own a Parker shavette and I love it, but I was interested in getting another with a bit higher quality fit and finish to it (mostly for looks), so I purchased this after some considerable thought however when it arrived I was surprised to find that the handle is raw unfinished wood that will soak up moisture and likely crack quickly or stain. The blade locking spine is good but does not clamp as firmly as it should and the plate is flat not slightly curved meaning there is no pinching action at the blade edge resulting in the possibility of blade movement although not likely.
The steel and wood used feels solid and substantial and likely will not rust and the pin in the spine is well rivited. If you buy this and want it to last I would say it needs a little work before use:
*A bit of boiled linseed oil or danish oil
*some pre finish sanding
*enlarging the throat for better closed locking
*the pivot screw needs fine tuning
This is a good product if it was a reduced price but I cannot recomend at almost a hundred Au.
