Merkur 34C Heavy Duty Safety Razor Chrome

First time use this morning, was a nice gentle shave and very good experience overall, only a month or so into my journey of de razor shaving and this razor will be my go too for a long time I feel

I enjoy using this razor and it's been quite good, but today (nine months after purchase) the threads gave way and the razor is now no longer functional

I'll be contacting support for a replacement and I hope this is just a fluke

I was in contact with customer service and they explained how because I wasn't taking it apart to clean it shaving cream got onto the threads weakening and eventually destroying them!

As it was within warranty a new top plate was sent out free of charge and proper care instructions were provided to me. The customer service agent agreed it may be worth updating the product description to mention the need for understanding proper care for the product!

I treated myself to Merkur 34c to replace my old cartridge razor.

Took a couple of shaves to get used to the shorter handle. But I've learned to work with the razor weight and can now get a smooth, close shave. The handle knurling means wetness doesn't effect grip and being a two piece set up is easy to clean

The 34C gives even results with both downwards and upwards passes. It's also gentle on my skin. I can see why everyone recommends it as the best safety razor to buy when you first start wet shaving.
