Ghost in the Shell is pure future, an accelerated leap into new olfactory territories and the glorious result of grafting ultra-modern materials onto familiar ones - producing an unmistakable strangeness. To describe the smell of Ghost in molecular terms seems inevitable, but not very telling. Ghost is to be smelled and felt: its initial impression is a splice of jasmine weaved between sharp and shiny yuzu and creamy lactonic musks, ranging the gamut from ozonic, aquatic, and artificial. It is dominated by a metallic effect - prominent at the top and persistent into the base. It is somewhat unnerving, working over the surface of the natural, causing its partial disappearance. A combination of citrus, milk, and metal - it disturbs yet soothes after a while; it is weird yet mesmerising. It will call to mind vinyl, rubber, rainstorms, plastic, milky skin, merging all of these materials in an transcendent act - Ghost simulates, on our skin, a cybernetic play - the machine is realised on our skin. It is poetic, dream-like, yet alienating. Ghost reiterates the reminders, or the warnings, of the theorists of the postmodern: technology is an extension of the body … and after a while, nature disappears. Between utopia and dystopia, Ghost is the liminal stage in this sequence - a new vision of the body entirely.

Unbelievably addicting there's truly nothing like it

Amazing

I love this smell. It gives me rainy city vibes, can definitely imagine ghost in the shell. Like a futuristic city in the rain. Very wearable and smells expensive. So good!!

I can't stop smelling myself

I think this is the ultimate your skin but better scent.

It starts with a bright pop of citrus by the sea and dries down to a fluffy and milky warmth that I cannot stop smelling.

Somehow this warmth has an almost electronic fuzz to it, like an overheated appliance.

I have no idea how they've created such a visceral scent but I can perfectly picture this being how cybernetic prosthetics smell after a hard day's work.

The best

Rarely do I leave reviews but this scent is totally worth it. Starts off being this bright, happy yuzu mixed with this wonderful brief aldehyde punch. It’s followed by this really charming mix between jasmine and a powdered glove (like a powdered latex). The jasmine + latex doesn’t overstay its welcome though, and as it dries down more it becomes this wonderful cyborg like scent. Like you’re at the dentist office and the dental assistant is wearing some airy, clean nondescript fragrance as they’re about to start drilling into your mouth. They’re wearing a mask so you can’t see their mouth but you know they’re smiling at you warmly to try and comfort you. I don’t get much lactonic or soapy notes on me, but it could definitely jump out the more I wear it. After wearing it for an hour or two, it smells clean, silicon covered, artificial skin — almost clinical. The yuzu and floral linger ever so slightly on top of this cyborg effect. At times I got this strange burnt rubber accord too, like I had just had a long, sensual night with a robot and I smelt its powdery skin afterwards while it overheated in the corner. I cannot stop smiling while sniffing my skin, it’s a true must try and really a work of art.

One of my favourite perfumes ever. It’s like nothing else I’ve smelled before. It’s fresh, slightly floral, a little citrusy and unexpectedly milky.
I was initially attracted to the name and packaging- having gone through a bone marrow transplant which fully replaced my blood with my donor’s ( resulting in a new blood type, 2 DNAs), I feel like a bit like a cyborg myself, so I could relate to the concept. But when I smelled this unique scent, I was captivated. It works wonderfully with my body chemistry and stays on my skin for the whole day. Will definitely repurchase once I run out.
