DOVO Solingen Straight Razor: Ebony Bismarck 6/8" Carbon

As always, as soon as I receive a new straight razor I check if it's up to check and shave ready. I opened the box, took it out and might I say it is a beautiful straight razor. I then performed a simple hanging hair test, which it could not pass even with quite some force with the hair. I thought about honing it, which is when I noticed something that would have not only made it dangerous to use, but impossible to hone without me putting in an insane amount of work and wasting who knows how much of the blade. The back of one side of the blade (when the blade was laid gently flat against a flat surface with the spine and blade touching the surface, the same way as if you were to hone) did not meet the surface.

I have already sent 2 email requests over the pass many days, as well as a submission through the sight itself. I have yet to receive even a recognition of my email, led alone a fix to the issue. $280 for useless junk that looks cool. Amazing.

Being the first time using in a cut throat, I found this razor to be really easy to use. From the size (length), to its overall weight and to the rounded edge.. its great if you're a beginner and the quality is decent to last a long time

This razor truly is something else. It looks and feels stunning. It's got a really good weight to it and and 6/8 blade makes it a good all-rounder.

Probably wouldn't recommend this as your first razor but it would make a great addition to any collection.
