D. R. Harris Almond Shaving Soap in Bowl, 100g

A top performing soap and a delight to use. The scent is so mild as to be almost non-existent, so I will go back to the excellent cream.

It may be just my batch, as I have the travel soap stick and the scent is a lot stronger.

Being a fan of everything D.R Harris and almond scents, I just had to give this soap a shot.

On packaging, like all things D.R Harris, the soap came very well presented in a plain box, with the actual soap bowl being sealed as per other D.R. Harris soaps. A piece of wax paper protected the soap once opened.

The Bowl itself is very much like the previous "Arlington" soap by D.R Harris I own, and is very nicely presented. I tend to cut the "Seals" so I can retain the main sticker on the top. Just looks better presentation wise.

On performance this soap like all D.R Harris soaps I've used are top notch! I always start by "Re-Hydrating" my soap. This is not essential, but I've found it works well for me. Basically I just put some hot water in it, and allow the water to penetrate the soap prior to shaving. I face lathered with this soap, and was left with more than enough for 3 passes.

On scent, this was a bit of let down personally, however, this is because all "Almond" scented products I have used up until now have been that "Marzipan" almond scent (sweet almond), so I was expecting the same from this soap. However, what I got was a very very light almond scent, and more of a "Milky" light soapy scent. Its quite hard to describe but it's very very subtle.

Would I recommend this? Certainly! Based on Performance alone, this is a winner! However, if like myself initially you are looking for that Marzipan Almond Scent, you will not find it here (in my case anyways). However, this is an overall very nice soap, and it will last a very long time! So if you've tried the other D R Harris soaps, you'll know what you're in for! This may also suit someone who does not like heavily scented soaps!
