This does make for an easier smother shave and its compact size and plastic tube make it good for travelling.

Provides a nice base layer for a smooth shave. Razor just glides on it for an irritation free shave.

some pre- shave treatments are unctuous and unpleasant . This is silky and smooth and helps the razor glide .One of the best.

Likewise with my review for the Jermyn St aftershave balm, I have been shaving with this in conjunction with the Jermyn St shaving cream and aftershave balm for a few weeks now, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone with sensitive/dry skin like myself.
A small amount is all that is needed. It rubs across the face and neck very easily and gives off quite a strong, pleasant scent - don't worry, this gets shaved and washed off and isn't overpowering at the end. It makes the skin feel more smooth and the razor more glide-able, but doesn't leave an oily residue. Rinsing it off is easy too.
I have experienced no skin irritation from it yet. I certainly think that this is definitely my go-to preshave stuff from now on until I get sick of it (which might be never?)

I have never heard a product like this before, it is really amazing. I have almost no razor burn after using this product. I am pretty sure that i will buy it again and again,for perfect shaving experience.

Great product, ive use this quite a few times already and it performs excellently. Its like an oil but doesnt leave the skin feeling oily. I have found that i need to use about 5c piece worth to cover the more irratable kin sections so in terms of cost It is up there! That being said this is a great product. I have previously used the proraso preshave which tends to behave "soften" the hair whereas TOBS seems to assist the blade over the skin which is great..no more bumps and irritation!

Fantastic product, I use a straight razor and have very sensitive skin and have almost no razor burn after using this product. Combined with TOBS sensitive shaving cream, you can't go wrong.

First off in case you are wondering about the scent, yes, it smells absolutely identical to the rest of the Jermyn street line. (Which in my opinion is fantastic)
I'm pretty hesitant about the idea of a preshave in general being much use, but I do have to say I geared up with my Jermyn st shave soap (and a dab of the cream too... cant have too much of a good thing right?) and this preshave, and got one of the best shaves I've had in weeks. I do think it helped keep the razor gliding really well. Subsequent shaves might not have totally sold me on the idea of preshaves, but this is by far the best one I have tried, and possibly the only one I felt actually makes a difference.
So if you are considering trying this and you like the rest of this line of products, you could do worse than give it a shot. The only downside? Yeah... it's very expensive. And you probably need slightly more than just a little dab.
However on the plus side, you will get a great laugh when you see the box it comes in. What were they thinking when instead of a plain black TOBS box, they put a picture of what looks to me like Justin Beiber shaving on the front??
