Derby Extra Double Edge Safety Razor Blades

Derby is my favourite out of them all. It is sharp enough and has the best longevity.

In my experience, sharper (like Feather) is not necessarily better. The extreme sharpness of Feather only shaves *per stroke*. For most people, they still have to go back over the same spot and also, against the grain. If you do this with Feather, it takes off the top layer of the skin too - so you only want to shave in 1 or 2 strokes. So in practical reality, the Feather is limiting as my skin always feels very sensitive after using Feather.

With the Derbys, you can shave over the same spot over and over again, and against the grain. There are no worries - you can even apply pressure to really get that close shave. If you did this with a Feather, you would get nicks and cuts. The Derbys provide the safety, convenience and speed of catridge razors - but even better performance and much much cheaper.

Also, because the Derbys are less sharp, this means the blade is less thin at the edge. Which means for much better longevity. I get peak performance for 10+ shaves from Derby - whereas Merkur, Astra, Feather etc wear out by 4-5 shaves.

As I've been using double edge blades for years my last bulk buy was a few years ago.

First shave results are excellent.
Even started using them in my Straight razor,which takes these blades when snapped in two.Being sharper than my last blades I'm fully back into the straight razor. Great product and great website guys.Looking forward to my next order, trouble is where to start, so much good man stuff!!!

I tried lots of the blades in the sample pack.when it comes to valu for money and quality of shave. Thumbs up to derby. I get 4 shaves out of a blade and i think that is pretty good value

Good everyday blade, read mixed reviews but decided to try for myself - ended up ordering bulk.

Fairly smooth and comfortable shave. However these blades are not as sharp as others and hence shave is not as close.

I used Derby blades exclusively for 6 months when I started into Wet Shaving. I used them in both my DE and my Shavette with optimal results.

If you're like me and like to read up on blades, you'll find quite a lot of mixed ones when it comes to Derby blades. I personally did not have a problem with them, and as I said, I used them exclusively for 6 months.

They are long lasting and will provide you with a nice clean shave. There are better blades out there, but value for money, you can't go past the good ol' Derby blades!

It seems that personal preference is most important for razor blades, but these certainly do the trick for me. And at about $0.20 a blade it is certainly cheap. I have found these blades outlast others too - even up to a week.

Have been using these since finding them via the starter pack on this site. In terms of sharpness, they seem duller than the Feather - which gives me shaving rash - but sharper than the Merkur - which I haven't had much success with.

I don't have thick facial hair so they are more than sturdy enough to hold their edge for 4-5 shaves (probably more).

Great blades! Makes a good close shave.
I only use them twice.

Found these to be too blunt, created a pulling sensation on hair. Always ended up with cuts and nicks.
Use these if you want to be an extra on a slasher film. Try Personna instead

After trailing each blade in the sampler pack I found these blades to give me the best results, great smooth shave every time.

These blades are one of my top 3 - they're not as consistently smooth as Merkurs, but they tend to be sharper and can last longer. Every once in a while you get one that's a bit harsh for the first shave or two, but overall they're a smoother shave than a Feather, and they last well. Recommended.
