Wood splinters through deep red rose petals, Rose de Jamal is proudly unconventional, unmistakably a rose perfume while being completely unlike anything else. It leans on a coarse texture to exceptional effect. Firstly: a rose with impeccable richness, attesting to the quality and quantity of this rose absolute (5.5%), revealing impressions of fruit both tart and juicy, heady with floral aromatics tinged with a citrus brightness, luscious and wild with vegetal greens and earthy browns underneath. Pink pepper makes everything all the more alive, drawing out from the rose spice and fruitiness, as if to present the picture of petals attached to thorny stems.

All of this plays out marvellously while the textural elements join in: cool and raspy mint, smooth, rough, and furry all at once, tilting rose upwards, while cedar redoubles this effect - here in the woody register - pulling the rose down against its coarse grains. And even lavender imparts unmistakable weight and texture, filling the spaces of this scent with its aroma.
